The New Nexus Testnet is Live

Join us in building the world’s most powerful supercomputer.

The new Nexus testnet is live and will be open until 9:00 am Pacific on December 13.

At Nexus, our core mission is to build a supercomputer for everyone and enable the Verifiable Internet. This testnet is the latest milestone in that journey.

What’s new?

Here are a few noteworthy details regarding this version of the testnet:

  • Nexus points: Your contributions to the network are reflected in the form of Nexus points.
  • Nexus account: You can now connect your ProverID with your email to use the same account across multiple devices.
  • Upgrades: You will experience a number of performance improvements including network stability upgrades and an auto-update function for the CLI network users.

We are happy to be working with partners like Gevulot, BCW, and CodeStream AI to provide professional-grade compute capacity to the Nexus network.

How to join the testnet

There are two ways to join the testnet and start contributing proof cycles.

The first way – and the easiest way – is to visit beta.nexus.xyz. From there you will be able to connect via a browser in three simple steps:

  1. Hit the “Launch Network” button
  2. Hit “Connect”
  3. Input your email to connect with your ProverID and create a Nexus account. You’ll need to confirm your email by clicking a link on an email sent to your inbox.

Once you’ve created a ProverID, connected, and confirmed your email, you will be able to start other sessions on other browsers, linking them all and accumulating Nexus points all in one account.

The other option for joining the network is via a CLI, or a Command Line Interface. This option allows users and developers to contribute by running a prover on their computer beyond the limitations of a browser.

You can find CLI details and instructions on the Nexus Network Github.

If you have any questions about how all these new network components will work, be sure to start with our FAQ. You can also join our growing community on Discord and Telegram.

Why are we building a supercomputer?

We are building the world’s most powerful supercomputer so that we can enable the Verifiable Internet.

Verifiability, or a proof system, will enable new ways of coordination and communication around everything from media and information to managing how large language models are trained and deployed.

Until now, the idea of building a verifiable layer of the internet was also constrained by time and cost. But once fully operational, the Nexus network will solve those problems.

How is that possible? By connecting millions of devices from around the world we can harness enough compute power to enable a vast network…and that’s where you come in.

By joining this testnet you are helping to take an important step toward the broader vision of connecting proof demand with compute supply via a network of connected devices.

Over the coming months, we will be rolling out a series of testnets to study different aspects of how the Nexus zkVM and the Nexus network can work at internet scale.
