Ambassador Spotlight: Five Questions with @LolaSt1400

Ambassador Spotlight: Five Questions with @LolaSt1400

Welcome to the Ambassador Spotlight series, where we will chat with Nexus Ambassadors from around the world to learn more about them and what brought them to the Nexus community.

What is a Nexus Ambassador?

Nexus Ambassadors are highly engaged contributors who support the Nexus community. These individuals help drive the ecosystem forward through leadership, influence, and hands-on involvement.

In our last spotlight, we chatted with @Yura__eth about the web3 community in Ukraine; Lola will answer a similar set of questions, except she will be covering the web3 community in Belarus. Let's go!

What inspired you to join and advocate for Nexus? Can you share what initially drew you to the project and how its mission aligns with your personal vision for web3?

What attracted me to Nexus was the idea that it's not just building a blockchain, but laying the foundation for the future of the internet – where every computation can be trusted because it's cryptographically verified.

What drew me in at the beginning? It wasn't just the technology or the concept – it was the feeling of being part of a big, supportive family. When I first discovered Nexus, I kept asking the moderators tons of questions about the tech, and everyone helped me. Not just the core team, but the whole community was incredibly welcoming. So I'd say it was the friendly atmosphere and the excitement of learning something new that truly hooked me.

How does Nexus' vision for a "world supercomputer" resonate with the specific needs or aspirations of the Belarus web3 community? Are there particular challenges or opportunities in Belarus that you feel Nexus is uniquely positioned to address?

In Belarus, everything is highly centralized, access to modern technologies is limited, cloud services don't work, and many IT specialists are leaving the country. Nexus enables people to join a global compute network using just a regular computer – no need for centralized servers, censorship, or dependence on big corporations.

This means that developers and users in Belarus can:

  • work with cutting-edge technologies, just like anywhere else in the world.
  • earn by contributing their devices to the network.
  • build projects that people can truly trust, because every computation can be verified.

For Belarus, this is a real chance to be part of the future, despite all the current limitations.

In your experience, how has the web3 and crypto ecosystem evolved in Belarus over the past few years? What changes have you witnessed in developer activity, community participation, or regulatory attitudes?

In the past, there was noticeable interest in web3 in Belarus – new projects, communities, and events were emerging. Many developers were exploring DeFi, NFTs, and blockchain platforms.

Now things have become quieter. There's less local activity, and most people work remotely for international companies. A lot of work is done anonymously or outside the country, but the interest in web3 is still strong.

That's why projects like Nexus are especially important in this environment: they allow people to participate in the global ecosystem, even without access to traditional platforms or cloud services.

Can you highlight any ways you or your peers are connecting Belarus' crypto scene with the global web3 community? Are Belarusian builders, influencers, or teams getting recognition or forging partnerships internationally? How are you helping to fuel these connections?

Today, most Belarusian developers, designers, analysts, and ambassadors work on global web3 projects as freelancers, team members, or DAO contributors. Local communities have become quieter, but many still actively participate in hackathons, grants, testnets, and ambassador programs, mostly online and often anonymously.

Belarusian specialists are involved in high-level projects like zkSync, Starknet, Polkadot, Arbitrum, TON, and others, often without public recognition.

What advice would you give to young people in your community interested in web3, and how can projects like Nexus help them gain a foothold in the global crypto space? What resources, communities, or platforms would you recommend for those just starting out?

Don't wait for perfect conditions – start now. You don't need expensive equipment or a big team. Web3 values those who learn fast, stay curious, and are ready to contribute. Start small: join testnets, ambassador programs, DAO discussions, or try writing a simple smart contract.

Nexus is a great entry point. It's an open, global platform built around the idea of verifiable compute – a key technology for the future of web3. You can get involved even with minimal resources: grow your skills, test products, run nodes, or simply learn within the community.

And if you ever get stuck, feel free to ask anything in the Nexus Discord. I and others from the community will always be there to help and guide you.
