Proof of Nexus: Four Cities, One Growing Global Network

Proof of Nexus: Four Cities, One Growing Global Network

The future of the Internet won’t be decided in boardrooms or closed labs. It will be built in the open — in coffee shops, co-working spaces, and packed meetup halls where strangers become collaborators.

Over the past month, Nexus has been on the road, hosting Proof of Nexus gatherings from China to Africa. Abuja. Shenzhen. Shanghai. Beijing. Four cities. Two continents. Hundreds of people showing up to explore what a Verifiable Internet means for them, their communities, and the world.

The rooms looked different in every city — the electric hum of Beijing’s crowd, the hands-on tinkering spirit of Shenzhen, the deep technical dives in Shanghai, the foundation-laying conversations in Abuja. But the thread was unmistakable: people leaning in, asking the hard questions, and imagining what’s possible when trust online is no longer a matter of faith, but a matter of proof.

Daniel Marin’s virtual keynote anchored the discussions, but it was the local voices that carried the energy forward — developers and entrepreneurs swapping contact info, students catching a first glimpse of what a truly verifiable web could mean for their communities. In every corner of the room, you could feel it — the shift from “someone should build this” to “we’re building it now.”

Nexus is growing. Not just in size, but in connection. And this is only the start. A special thank you to all our ambassadors in the Nigerian and Chinese communities who helped make these meetups happen!

If you want to be in the room where it happens, join us at an upcoming Proof of Nexus meetup. And if you’re ready to bring one to your own city, get in touch — we’ll help you make it happen.
