Nexus Changelog 7.18.25
This cycle of the Nexus Changlog focused on improving the mobile user experience, tightening CLI performance and reliability, and advancing
Bitcoin is the world’s most decentralized asset. For the first time, it can also be the world’s most decentralized security layer.
Today, we’re excited to announce our integration with Babylon Genesis, a protocol that acts as the coordination plane between the Babylon Bitcoin staking protocol and proof-of-stake chains, enabling Bitcoin staking to secure the chains without compromising decentralization, trustlessness, or asset custody.
Through this integration, Nexus can gain access to the security of over 44,660 staked BTC. That means less reliance on native token inflation, and more alignment with the most battle-tested trust anchor on the Internet: Bitcoin. This is directly aligned with our roadmap vision of amassing the most staked security of any network.
The Web3 ecosystem has long faced a dilemma: Grow your chain by inflating your token, or accept weaker security guarantees.
Babylon Genesis resolves this dilemma. By enabling BTC holders to stake their Bitcoin without bridging, wrapping, or relinquishing control, Babylon introduces a form of Bitcoin-backed security that is:
For Nexus, this translates to a radically more robust consensus layer, powered by a neutral asset, governed by pure cryptography, and aligned with the ethos of permissionless infrastructure. An asset that we all know and love, and are excited to bring to power Nexus. Nexus is built on the backs of the technological paradigms and innovations that have come before.
Nexus is building the world supercomputer for the Verifiable Internet. That mission demands integrity at every layer, from computation and identity to provenance and consensus.
By integrating with Babylon Genesis, we’re reinforcing that foundation by combining Bitcoin’s unmatched decentralization, without depending on token emissions or validator subsidies.
This unlocks:
Put simply, we’re upgrading the trust layer of the trustless stack and strengthening our network.
As Babylon Genesis moves towards integrating more Bitcoin Supercharged Networks (BSNs) like Nexus, we’re working closely to bring the Babylon Bitcoin staking protocol to Nexus chain. This marks a new phase in our evolution, where Nexus can serve as a high-throughput, programmable, and now Bitcoin-secured execution layer for the Verifiable Internet.
We’re proud to be among the early adopters of this architecture shift, and excited for what it enables.
If you're building apps that demand bulletproof security, minimal inflation, and verifiability by default, join us.
The Internet deserves a better consensus. We're building it alongside Bitcoin.
